 OCTOBER 7, 2007: The people of the Gerty Methodist Church extend sincere condolences to Fred Russell and his family on the passing of his wife Velma Lou.  She passed away on Sunday, October 7 after a long and brave struggle with Alzheimer's. She was 79.  Her church service and funeral were on Tuesday, October 9 at 10:30 a.m.  The Rev. Buddy Baltimore, their pastor at Gerty for the last 14 years, will also be at the funeral.  Many of her family, relatives and friends attended and shared their memories of this wonderful, caring and gifted woman.
